First of all that collar is not that bad if you grease it every other tire change then it may last 100,000 miles.
There are two collars one small and one large one is marked with a grove around it and the other is plain like in the box of collars
So best to get the biggest as the smaller ones wear faster.. if you change to bigger collar then you need the bigger splined drive shaft. I have that info at the shop.
Another option is you can take the pinion assembly out of a touring and use in a standard or maybe a roadster.
Also if there is any play in the pinion assembly
the bearings are shot and the pinion gear/ring gear will be rough and may whine.
