Engine rebuild story... continued.

I've been thinking about that reboring process all day. Where would I get new camshafts to fit?

Are we talking about the bigger hole in the middle of the picture? I removed this screw that was pretty tight. it had a little plastic nub on it that was all crushed up. The plastic fell of when I touched it.

If you machine the head and the cam ladder as Lushy said you would get it bored to suit stock cams. The cam would be sitting .015 lower. This would be taken up with shim adjustment. I may be wrong but that's the way I understood Neville's post.

Yes, plastic bit sounds a likely suspect, rest of engine should have had good oil pressure.
Neville Lush racing supplies new cams NOT regrinds with a profile to suit your needs.
Lush motors are the dogs wotsits so now is the time to upgrade.

This is very interesting. I'm gonna have to look into this.

Nothin' wrong with black head

There are a lot of people out there with the same problem, or so I am told.

Bruce is correct, you would reuse the stock cams if you wish. If they are serviceable. Other options available. I got your PM , but did not quite understand it. Sorry, must be my OZ style english . I have been having all sorts of email problems but you can contact me from the details on www.nevillelushracing.com Cheers . Nev
