In my case I think it was the clutch not being set correctly, therefore when I pulled it in to slow down and stop - I was probably still in first hence the stall.
With the throttle cables I noticed that I had the throttle on cable too slack - therefor I could have stalled because I put the bike in gear but didn't have enough throttle to start off - (I caught this problem and gave it more wrist action).

Therefore I was making adjustments on the fly, but managed to get them running ok.

Not sure which cables you moved - but it could be the cause

Like he said check your Cable Free Play (at lever) is 2-3 mm

Remove a few plugs it will tell you a whole story, some of the early 2010/2011 rockets had a corrupt tune try saving your existing tune and installing another one.

That is a good idea, I was wondering if when I had the tank up some crud had found its way into the fuel lines but then I also figured if it had the bike wouldn't run - it's only done 6,600 miles so unlikely to be either crud in the tank or the filter.
Thinking about the cables - I think that may be a red herring too as all that happened was I changed the angle of the bars rather than moved / re-routed them.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid but having ridden 2 strokes in my youth....nothing good comes from an unexpectedly stalled engine, unless you're out of fuel that is!

It's a learning curve. Enjoy the experience and there are plenty of people on the forum plus many threads/guides to help should you need them.

Many thanks to everyone but...... I am now armed with TuneECU and a Lonelec cable and can report..... no issues.

I am indeed paranoid!

There was a battery issue logged which I knew about as I swapped the old one out after it failed to start a week or so ago.

I cleared that, looked at all the graphs and tables, saved the hex file on my laptop...... and graciously backed away

Check all the visible connectors by opening them, clean with Q tip and alcohol or Corrosion X and lightly lube with dialectic grease. These bikes are quirky and like to be clean and well connected. Altitude and temp changes affect their mood. Have fun.

No, but I’ll check the back brake

When I travel to higher elevations my 97 twotone acts up for a while. The fuel mixing hard/software on this bikes is moody and, changes in temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure produce Gremlins. Ride it short distance for a while like Gregger has suggested. You should get the LoneTech cable and learn how to connect to the bike.

Very rare bike you have Ric. Not many 97 Rockets on the road.
