I asked Triumph about the rumor of the end of the Touring model, the response was not that they have heard of that. They said the 2015 has not been completely set, but as of now the R3T is still on the books for next year.

I always tell people John Deere makes it exclusively for Triumph.

that is why mine is john deere green with the john deere logo on the side originally I thought I was getting the BRG paint turned out more like john deere so I carried the theme on the sidecovers

That is a work of art Duke! Maybe a touch of yelloow to cement the thought process?

One big problem they'd have to address if they did indeed produce something like the one in the photo is heat management. That motor gives off a lot of heat. Blocking airflow to the headers and block would likely result in a roasted chestnut situation without a very creative fairing design.
I love the look of the motor. I get quite a few compliments on it from non-bike people in particular. The bikers say **** thats huge (the motor I mean). I don't know about the heat, I find it CONSIDERABLY cooler than the harleys. I got off my bike one very hot and humid night to bring my wife's Harley into the garage, I was astonished at how much hotter it was compared to mine.

I have resisted so far since I wondered how the R3 community would react to such an monumental change from the british ethos to such a pedestrian flatfooted farm faux-pas if nobody drills me on this site I may add a touch of john deere yellow somewhere .
BTW the JD logos are former belt buckles
I also filled in the ugly stamping of the gas tank on the bottom right side!!! that was an ugly (and cheap )looking finish . the bonneville gas tank looks so much better on the bottom but it is meant to compete with harley babison. anyway we will wait and see and since I bought a big industrial lift table with air I can work a good yellow stripe JD style somewhere without crawling on my knees.

Personally I think it would be a shame if Triumph discontinued the R3T as it stands and went with a plastic-laden tourer. Adding a tourer, sure, but the R3T is a nice compromise between the R3R and a full-blown plastic couch. It's mostly chrome and steel and has that classic cruiser look - there should be a niche for it, in my opinion. But I'm biased...

Well, TO, I do hope your rumor mill is wrong this time. And I hope that my message back from Triumph is truely gospel. They did tell me that the line up wasn't set but that the R3T was still going to be there. I saw the spy photos of a full dresser built on the T-brid frame with the 1700 twin and hope that is what is coming and not the demise of the R3T. I chose it over those other faired touring bikes becasue it has no fairing on front.

I'd love to see a full tourer with gauges up, electronic cruise, etc.
We can always re-tune the engine and get the power back up.

My rumour mill is usually very reliable and it is said that the new Thunderbird LT bagger is taking it's place and The R3T is history. The Roadster will carry on.

With all due respect to the Thunderbird LT, it's no R3T. But it's possible of course, no bike has an unlimited lifespan in the lineup. The R3T was made to crack the US cruiser market but it hasn't really taken the world by storm, I guess; it's a better bike than any Harley, but it's not a V-twin made in the US, and there's a lot more competition in the class now - Polaris is putting out some awesome v-twins on the US market with Victory and now Indian both.
