Discontinued part

Just a quick heads up,I went to my dealer yesterday to buy some spares and was told that The WATER PUMP COVER SEAL has been discontinued as a spare part by Triumph and they couldn't get me one.So If the water pump cover is removed you've got to buy a new pump. T3600161 is the part number. Lucky I had a spare. For Fox sake .

Dealers are often full of baloney, but Triumph is also known for listing stuff they don't have, it's a toss up, lol.

I guess you could cut your own, unless it's an o ring

Previously - not Rocket - I have taken large seals (O ring type) to local bearing supplies. They locate a number on the seal and measure, its surprising how many other applications a seal has.

Thank god I've been using the original one over and over again!!!

This one ain't an o ring so it's not possible to make an alternative. Good to know you can reuse them Scott.It looked a bit flat to be used again.

I use hylamar gasket sealant on mine also on the little sealing washer.
