Diff drain plug

Well I took the diff out of the bike and took it apart to get the bolt out and put a new one in. Only after doing this did I discover you cannot take this apart.

Can You take it apart or not ?

Confused.

I took it apart and put it back together, it was a straight forward job, just have to be very careful when separating the 2 halves. I used two 2'' scrapers to pry the two pieces apart. taking care not to mar the mated faces. doing this very slowly, and a fraction at a time all around.. be very careful as there is a large rubber O ring between the two halves.( Oil seal ). try to put it back together in the same position as it came apart. I would not hesitate to do this again if I had to. I have put over 16000 miles on her since doing this without mishap.
There are no instructions in the manual or torque settings for the bolts, have to guess, good luck.

dale.

Got the bolt out... what a pain. Had to take the final drive apart. Hope it does not leak.
