BULLSH1T!!!!!!!
I never had any problems, and for a modification to void a warranty claim it must be responsible for the failure for which you are claiming.
ASK STEEL what happened to him when he tried to get his trans fixed under warranty and we were told the same by Triumph

UNLESS you get a dealer that will overlook it for you BUT TRIUMPH does not want CAR TIRES used on the ROCKET or any of their bikes

I was at the barber shop yesterday and while waiting I perused through the latest edition of "Rider" magazine I believe it was. Anyway, there is a GREAT and extensively researched article regarding the use of car tires on M/C's in the edition. The writer did his research and his findings are very "Eye opening!" EVERYONE from tire companies to M/C manufacturers and attorneys basically said "bad idea." Both for safety reasons and legal liability reasons.

Their logic is spot on! Did you know if you install a tire made for a car and not approved by the bike manufacturer that if the cop taking the report documents the fact your bike had a car tire on it instead of an approved M/C tire, the insurer can and most likely will, refuse to cover the crash! Take a look. Good read!
JUST the fact that RIDER MAG has this great article regarding the use of non approved by the bike manufacturer CAR TIRES is going to be a problem for anyone who has an accident and ends up in court

Ill be going back to a mc tire next change , the reasoning being i only ride the bike to work one day per week now and id like to have her with a hiher degreeof nimbleness when im off in the hills, trying to muscle it around with the car tire in the twisties two weekends ago caused my already farrrked back to play up even more.

Triumph has removed the restriction on Roadsters. I don't think restricting the first 3 gears was all Triumph's idea in any case. I'd say it's pretty unlikely is ever going to start fitting under inflated car tyres to motorcycles. Be a bit hard to sell the idea to punters too: "Now fitted with a car tyre on the rear. Sure it will take time to get used to, require more effort at slow speed, rob power and scrub out your front tyre, but you will save $100."
