I have never been so confused in my life (still not as confused as Bruce Jenner). I'll be needing a new rear tire soon. I'm really torn between a MC tire and car tire. I never do radical riding, so maybe I can go with a CT. And, do I "size down" on my front tire for better steering in corners? I'm so confused that I may just have to sell my bike.

I was in the same undecided situation you're in right now a couple years ago. I picked up a screw in my MC tire so I needed to do something. So I told myself "Well I have rode with a MC tire on there ..... nothing to do but try the CT" and that's what I did. You will never know if you like the CT until you try it. I found out that I didnt like it so now I don't even think about it anymore. lol

You, my friend, are the very reason why many of the outlandish claims of those who have chosen to use car tyres cannot go unchallenged. It would be a travesty if the only commentary was from those who are blindly in favour when the reality is that there is a considerable downside. One thing for certain; you won't know unless you try it. It might be exactly what you're looking for, but just don't expect it to be all good.

I'm buying a spare rear wheel (thanks @JoseyR3Wales !) so I can fit one to try. If I don't like it, just switch back and nothing lost, plus I'll always have a spare in the trailer if I need it ;) of course that won't help much with most rides as the trailer rarely goes with...but it helps sale the idea of an extra wheel to my better half ;)

I be doing that exact same thing with the wheel I bought from BigHead. Run darkside down here in the flat lands and keep a nice fresh MT on the spare rim for going to play in the mountains.:D

By the way Shannon's are quite happy to insure a bike with a CT listed as a modification
