Living Legend
I have had the car tire on my bike for a little while now. Like mentioned previously here is my OWN opinion. I installed the car tire because I picked up a nail in my MC tire. I saw that the car tire was an option I could take so I wanted to try it. Here is the things I don't like about the car tire:
a) I feel in more control, better ride, etc.... with the air pressure set at 28 psi. Anymore than that the counter steer is a pain in the ass. With the air pressure this low the tire leaks air out apparently from around the bead. I have to add air to the tire if it sits for longer than three or so days. I have checked the air pressure before and it had dropped to 15 psi. Who wants to keep adding air in that short period of time?
b) The counter steer sucks! After about 200 miles or so I was so fed up with the car tire I ordered a new Metz. However I haven't been able to get it mounted ... you know the time thing?
c) The side wall is scuffed where I have been riding on it at times....that's not good. Not really like or dislike but it's there.
d) The transition from leaning to one side of the other in the corners is "bulky" feeling.
e) Stopped on a slopped incline road the car tire wants follow the incline ... not good. Roads are slopped so water runs off to the shoulder. I have noticed my bike leans towards the shoulder of the road while riding.
Things I like:
a) Rides smoother
b) I can burn the tire off and not feel guilty about it since the price is cheaper.
I'm going back to MC tire when I get the time.
