tell you what. You come up when i'm getting the bs fitted and we get joe to swap rear wheels. We can "test" the tyres for a week or so, you can be as agressive as you want and we're not risking each others bikes. I'll ride down for the swap back. Down the mountain on the federal should let me know how it really feels. I can provide an objective review of a car tyre and you can see if the bs is up to your riding style.
mmmmmmmm:)

Exactly why I won't go there

Exactly why I won't go there

He is probally running it overinflated, also while it does not look like there is not much tyre on the road you will find even then he has as much contact patch as yo do when cranked over

Yup...that tire is way over inflated. He should have 1/3 to 1/2 of the tire on the ground. Here's a photo of mine. It is a 235/55 General G Max

BTW This was on Tail of the Dragon. Never had the first slip even when I was half way around a steep curve and ran into a strip of water crossing the road. Now THAT will make your old putt bucker if you are already close to the edge of losing traction. I expected it to break loose but she held just fine. I'll never go back. DS has saved my ass more than twice.

Oh my gosh great video Lester!
I freeze framed the vid and I know why my car tire looks the way it does on the sidewall.
The sidewall looks like it is flapping in the wind.

I watched the video several times and stopped it frequently. FROM WHAT I SAW, it shows the contact patch to be no more than around 2 inches at full lean, sidewall contorted, and you can see the front tyre being pushed. My Bridgestone MT has double that and my front tyre tracks true and wears evenly from edge to edge. I repeat, this is MY OBSERVATION of the video provided.

Stripes' pic LOOKS to be a bit better but if you also look at the front tyre in that pic it LOOKS to have a 4 inch contact patch too. So what does that tell us? That pictures can be deceiving.

I've ridden behind Hanso and there's no doubting he can ride with the best of them with his car tyre. I know he runs the correct pressure (for him) and that he has no issue with handling whatsoever. But I've seen it up on the corner just as much as I've seen it with a wide contact patch. The contact with the road changes all the time. At no time could anyone with a car tyre count on there being any particular amount of tread on the road, even when travelling in a straight line. On the other hand I KNOW, no matter what angle I'm leaning, that I have at least 4 inches of purpose built Bridgestone rubber on the road.

Thanks for the "evidence". ;)
