Just got my new 2011 Roadster in my (unheated) garage. I'm in southern Canada, and will keep it in there in future winters. I plan to hook up a CTEK unit to keep and maintain the Roadsters battery fully charged. Have any members used this Swedish unit on their R3 battery(stock, or aftermarket?), through past winter storage, and did it do the job OK? Thanks for any thoughts! Cheers.

I use a Battery Tender Plus and it works just great. It was about 60 bucks and I use it to keep charge on 2 bikes, both which have a plug wired to their battery and I just switch the tender every so often. I am not familiar with the CTEK unit but you might compare the two.

I looked at CTEK's website. It looks like a great unit; it has some good features and should work just fine. I assume you have a 12v unit?

BTW if anyone is looking for a Battery Tender, Flip sells them very cheap.

Welcome from Delaware ... I use the Odyssey PC625 and matching Odyssey charger/maintainer. Works like a charm ... but you have to use the Odyssey charger with the Odyssey battery or it won't work.

There are other options out there, just don't plan on the factory battery doing a decent job in chilly weather or after she sits awhile.

To the point, the CTEK will do just fine. Plug in and forget about it till spring.
