thank you for a very good and thorough answer. much better than semantics about whether the Roadster is "unique" or not which digressed from the question in this thread.

At least you live in the same country as Corbin sales!
I have to ship it overseas just to try it on. can't do that. haven't that kind of wallet..

Thank you for understanding my question. I will probably have to wait and see until someone takes the plunge.
have considered having a saddle custom made here in Sweden as well. who knows!

Hellfire, I did not miss the fact the saddle will fit on the -10. I already knew that. I have known that from the first day I owned the bike. same mounting points. nothing difficult.

you on the other hand seem to have missed that I ask how it will look and how it will be, comfort wise, on the Roadster, since there are different seating angles compared to -09 -08 -07 and so on.

will I sit higher? will I sit lower? will the seating be tilted any degrees?
will the thighs feel a cramp with a corbin saddle and the roadster pegs, since the pegs are moved compared to 09 08 07 and so on?

those kind of questions I ask, not whether it is doable to install the corbin saddle on rocket -10

I don't know what you are talking about seating angles? What angles? The seat sits on the same frame as is used on previous bikes. I don't get your point.

Could it be that you might be over thinking something you park your butt on?

If you don't like the peg location, there are two other choices to go with not including highway pegs, which have infinite variations.

With the pegs farther back, as on the Roadster.. if you put a shorter seat on the bike.. You will probably feel like your knees are higher (actually your butt will be lower).. This might not be a problem.. It wouldn't be for me as I sometimes sit my feet on the engine bars at the same location as the Roadster pegs are mounted and I find it comfortable.. and that was with the Triumph gel low rider seat.. I am 5'11" by the way. I would think the taller the person, the more of an issue they might have..

An extreme example would be me riding a Honda Rebel.. Or when my wife took the MSF course on a Suzuki GZ250. My wife is also 5'11", but she has a 36" inseam.. Her knees were at chin level when she was riding that little bike.. lol It was hilarious..
But... I told her that if she can ride like that for 8 hours as she did in the course, then she should be just fine in a 'normal sized' seating position.. lol

thank you. this is exactly what I mean
does anyone know whether the corbin is lower than stock saddle?

an angle I am worried about is the angle between my thighs and my chins, since the Roadster pegs are further back. I know that this angle is quite good today, but I do not know how that angle will be with a corbin saddle.

I have completely, fully and to 100% understood that the saddle mounts in the same points on the same frame as all previuos rockets. I have known that all the time.

There are many different Corbins, I can tell you that the Young guns version is lower if that helps.
I'm 6'2", 200lbs with a 36" inseam, it's just hard for me to imagine anyone feeling "cramped" on an R3 unless you're Hulk Hogan.:p

The seat mounts on previous models actually .... well ... nevermind.

thanks for the input.
I am quite certain that I would be satisfied with a Corbin. I dont want to buy it over the Internet based on a picture though and it seems that noone in Sweden has a Corbin.
I have talked to the Swedish importer and ther could not remember ever having sold a Corbin to a Rocket owner.

thank you all so far, I'll wait and see. maybe my butt gets more accustomed to the stock saddle.

A buddy of mine just swapped controls from his 08 R3 with the new Roadster. Other than the pipes, hard to tell the difference. However, to give some room with the rear controls on the roadster, they did change the seat a little. A little more rise in the rear and a little more padding for the extra height. I guess to not cramp you up with the new peg location. I'm dumpy and 5'10" and I don't have any trouble with being able to flat foot the bike. The guy with the 08 that put Roadster controls on his bike is 6'4" and loves the new position. Any of the newer r3 seats will interchange with the Roadster. :DHey Leif, if you're still going with the SC on your bike, why don't you just go ahead and fit an ejection seat on it now. Could come in handy.

:D injection seat, yeah that could be something!

still going for the SC of course. it will be a winter project, not this side of christmas.
yep, the seats will fit the bike of course, no difference there.

I am 178.5 centimetres and just learned that this means 5'10" just like you.

100 kilograms, 220 pounds. maybe should change to "Fat Leif" :p

see you around Frank, have you considered those X-Flow filters yet?
