Considering a Rocket 3..

if the hd guys love there bikes like this it is because they have not rode a rocket 3:roll::roll::roll:

It was a sunny day, mid-spring in Alaska, a Saturday afternoon. I cant explain what caused me to steer my truck in the direction of our local Triumph dealership...I quite honestly had no intention of buying a motorcycle...I had not ridden in 30 years. I walked in, looked about the place, saw the Roadster (A used 2010) and gazed at it for about 10 minutes. Eliciting odd looks, I ran for the door, jumped in my truck, and sped off to the credit union. I worried considerably that I could not make arrangements fast enough, that it might be gone.

A week or so later it was delivered to my garage...still snow and ice on the ground I sat with the door open for 3 weeks in a chair watching every molecule of snow and ice evaporate. There is no manner of entertainments, drugs or women that can substitute the experience of riding my Rocket...test drive? You don't need no stinkin test drive.

Quite the wordsmith ye be there, Mate!

Bought a Rocket X in late Sept. Have a really nice 2010 Harley Fatboy which has been rode twice since buying the Rocket. Now have 10,500 miles on the Rocket. No problems at all with the Rocket. Tried several times to ride the Harley to work but end up every time taking the Rocket. Enough said, buy it.

I have had my 2014 Roadster almost a year now bought it in March have about 7300 miles on it. I subscribe to about 3 magazines Rider, Motor Cyclist, Cycle World and they all do not give any press to how good this bike is or any press at all- one day I will write to each publication asking why? Plenty of print on the new Bonnie Line which they look awesome granted but this is Triumph's flagship bike!! I wouldn't trade this bike for anything out there; there is nothing else like it.

More than likely. I have a few people looking at it but are waiting for there tax returns. Asking $9,000 and with all the mods done to the bike it should sell quickly. Would like to take one of the new Bonneville's out for a test ride when they come out. Really like the looks of the new bikes.

I traded my 06 R3 for a K1600 GTL and put my acc's up here for sale and a couple days later took them down. I'm 5'8" 165 lbs 56 years of hard miles. I'm currently trying to get another R3r to replace the bike I traded. My impressions of 2 years 15,000 miles, Best hwy motor on the planet but I don't really consider the boss hoss a motorcycle, I can push the R3 around like it's a bicycle go figure, my tbird felt like the tires were flat when I tried to move it around the garage and many other bikes this big feel top heavy. your very first turn on the bike will alarm you because the 240 back tire don't want to lean at low speed that goes away quick, above 100 mph the bike does tend to pogo on these pot holed chicago roads and handling feels limited by the stock suspension (i think) since the frame feels absolutely rigid pushing it hard. The intake sound along with a decent aftermarket exhaust is amazing, addicting ear candy. I traded my R3 for 2 reasons, My wife couldn't take the buffeting from the passenger seat even with triumphs large screen, and the 06 needed a tranny, and i guess I only lost a grand compared to the $7500. hit I would have taken if I would have traded my s3 instead.

The bike has more power off idle than any sportbike has all day long and stock the 5 speed R3r pulls to 135 mph which in Illinois is fast enough to spend a year cooling your heels, but the thrust. I spent a small fortune for a harley that performed like this and it grenaded at 30k. This is the first year since iv'e been paying attention there were no R3r leftovers in fact the 3 dealers in my area sold out before the late summer discounts so around here at least the worlds best kept secret has gotten out.

One of my friends who is a die hard Harley guy was really upset that we plan on selling the Harley. He had made several commits on how the Rocket sounds like a sewing machine. So the last time he came over and was joking around about the Rocket I threw the keys at him and said take it for a spin. Now he is looking for a Rocket. The bike just blew his narrow viewed mind away.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I have no interest in V rod !

Dito on everything that was said about the Rocket.....about the V rod..... I pulled into the local coffee shop after a ride and parked beside a pile of Harleys. Everyone was intrigued with the Rocket... so much so that one fellow, who owned a V rod, drove the 700 kilometres to the local dealership and purchased a Roadster. He put over 20,000 kms on it first summer and they are short in Canada.

There are only 2 Rockets where I live and we both love em.
