Confusion about Rivco risers on a 2013 Roadster

Just want to say thanks

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted about the risers. Finally got them on and have just hit the 1st thousand mile mark. What a difference! It is true that just those couple of inches up and back make a great deal of difference both for comfort and handling. I can't seem to keep it below 60mph even in towns! In all the bikes I have owned, from XSessive 1100's to 1000LTD's to Harley's, I have never had a bike that could just pull away at 80 in 5th gear so smoothly and quickly. Most stable ride I have ever had, couldn't be happier with this purchase. This is becoming the best bike I have every owned, and I had never even seen one up to 7 months ago! Thanks again , Jon

Hi Jon, I'm looking to add the rivco risers to my '13 R3 because I've got me some short arms. Did you relocate any of the cables as was suggested? Thanks

Not Jon, but I just installed them on my Roadster - and relocated the cables. Throttle was especially tight and had to be relocated but it was extremely easy to do.

Roadster and Std cables are the same but the Classic cables are just a little longer and while after rerouting mine a tad I fond that the clutch and throttle cables was just a tad tight on full lock for the not so expensive cost of the Classic cables I now have ample looseness in the cables also as Warp mentioned I fond that by switching to 05-06 model top bar clamp all of about $50 my instruments just swing up and forward out of the way to lift the tank

Gauge Bracket

Hanso, was looking hard at that bracket, but I thought that somewhere else on this site but on the same topic, that someone said that on the 2013's even with the bracket, there is still an issue of removing the tank. I can't find it now, so maybe it was just me reading so much about it, that I just lost my friggin mind. However, that being said, I really would like to do it, I have all the info, where to buy and part numbers, I just didn't want to bother due to time and cost unless I knew for certain it would work. Any info. for the 2013s and this bracket would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jon

unless they changed again yours would be the same as my 08 one and the top bracket goes straight across which doesn't allow the tank tab to come past once you have fitted the Rivco risers, The risers were designed early on in the rockets models 04-05 not sure what bracket they used for 06 but in 07 they changed, the 04-05 bracket has a hinge which allows the instruments to stay attached but swing up after undoing the two little 5mm bolts when it swings up it exposes a cut out that allows the tank tab to pass.
Hope this helps you, Warp was kind enough to put some good pictures in this thread earlier on

hi
if you have a friend you can remove the rear bolt move the tank back far enough to clear then put back the bolt then you can use tank prop.

I built the bracket that is in the post I referred to above. It took quite a bit of time for me to build just one so I took the drawing to a friend of mine who does these things for a living and ask him what it would cost to make ten of them. If its reasonable I will let all of you know and see if anyone wants to get one.

excellent. if the price is reasonable I'm in!
