I've got a ZR1 corvette which is 100% stock and when I'm on sport or track mode the car pops like crazy under closed throttle and deceleration. Every ZR1 does the same thing, and it doesn't mean they're out of tune. Even my stock Rocket 3R pops on decel but the factory exhaust just does a really good job of muffling the sound. Again, this is not an indication that the bike is out of tune.
Hello @msdunkel, it is entirely possible to intentionally create a decel pop, that's very common in sports cars to make them sound mean. They will pop on decel, but immediately return to an efficient tune when accelerating.
But if a decel pop ocurrs unintentionally when mounting an aftermarket exhaust, it is a completely different story.
This thread seems dead....I got the Comp. Werks exhaust and am putting the DNK tune on it. DNK says they tune specifically for mods done (i.e. they fuel for the increased flow and have done "spark work"...advanced timing I hope). I may be able to get a before and after dyno run but my local shop runs on a dyno that has very conservative numbers using an Eddy Current (not inertia-type) dyno. So the before and after will not be as drastic as one would see on a DynoJet inertia style dyno. Please stay tuned...

I am quite happy with the Werkes® Slip-on, but it is a tad loud. So you might need to behave in town (-: I had the Triumph heat-shield ceramic coated, and there is a little OEM exhaust bracket on the left side, for which you need to remove the side-stand assy to get to. I was not pleased at all with the DNK tune, though - see Performance Placebo. I will be trying Penner's next - it is receiving rave reviews here.
For the people that have installed this exhaust, what does the side stand rest against when up... considering the factory exhaust has a side stand bumper installed on it.

The side stand bracket features its own integral side stand stop. Triumph clearly anticipated at least some of their customers swapping out that automotive silencer for something more befitting our large Speed Triple (-:

When removing that lefthand exhaust bracket that I mention in the post above, be sure to add SS fender washers of roughly the same thickness (one or two, depending on how thick your washers are, at each bolt that retained the bracket) to compensate for its absence. Here is a photo of mine;
If someone coughs up the 1100+ bucks for the slip-on, could you please post some pics and sound clips. It's tough to shell out the dough without much info, their website wasn't much help.
Was wonder what kind of baffling if any, was in the cans.
I did. I got a staggering 7+hp gain. And lost 20lbs from this swap. Here are some photos. Need a tune (see AF from 4000-6400). Man it’s a special sounding bike. Loud loud loud.

I should also mention, this dyno compared to a dynojet is consistently 10% lower. So my apples to apples rwhp is over 167. I am looking forward to loading the Penner and the DNK tune to compare. It already rips but I think the delivery can be ironed out to make it smoother. I would also love to reduce decel popping.
