Clutch question, please help.

I use 20-50 Mobil in the Harley but that is a oil cooled engine. Been running Mobil 4-T since day one in the Rocket year round. Never had a problem. Back in 05 I bought a Bonneville and during that time frame the recommended oil by truimph was Mobil. Used Mobil in every bike since then.

As others have said, change that oil!!
You need 4T rating!! You are using the wrong oil!!! Your clutch will slip with the wrong oil!!
Well I went ahead and took your (and others) advice and did an oil change with Motul 10w40 from the shop I use, Cycle Pro in Orlando. It appears to have reversed the slippage! Praise the Lord! I even hooked up my Lees-ure Lite camper (about 350 lbs with gear in it) and pulled it for a 150 mile trip. No slippage! However, I wasn't cranking down on the throttle to see if I COULD make it slip, but at least it did not slip. Also I got 33 mpg on the trip. Almost forgot to mention another thing; the clutch cable had somehow been adjusted to have zero freeplay. Once properly adjusted with a fair amount of freeplay, it improved immediately. So I don't know if was that or the oil change that fixed it, or a combination of both.

Glad it's better. Next change try the 15w50 Motul 300V 4T especially since you are in a hot environment.
