If there is any chance to get it, I would recommend to order @flyreels' heatshield configuration. Because this is obviously the current peak of the CES headers evolution.

Thanks for that Steve

Follow up on my post #18:
I ordered, received and used a bottle of that PURPLE metal polish.
It does NOT restore the luster at all - it cleans just fine, but once the ceramic is dulled, the luster does not return. :(
Me thinks I may look into a new set of the CES with the heat shields.

Let's not forget where all this started - @ozrider initially and then @bruce aussie with the "production" model. Absolutely fantastic to see the way these are being improved over time, with CES both listening to and working with their customers. Yet the original concept and production design still lives, such was the quality of the initial work. Bloody brilliant.

Where oh where were the heat shields when I needed them? :( And in case anyone needs yet another reminder DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EVER USE OVEN CLEANER ON CERAMIC COATING.
Mine actually cleaned up pretty good with Purple Polish and, when I last saw them, the damaged part was almost restored.

Yes I had nothing to do with the headers at all! And I am bloody great full to both @ozrider the original one to get them made up and then for talking Trevor into making them again with the use and help of @bruce aussie bike, as without them they would not be made at all.
All I did was collaborate with Leslie and Trevor on getting the heat shields made up that I wanted.

Hi I just spoke to Trevor today and the reason that they are not doing the bottom heat shield any more is that they lose way to much money on them. It's because they are hand made and not stamped out, that bottom collector one takes about 5 hours to make and mount by itself and it just doesn't look like that much work has gone into them. They charge $110 an hour for labour and then there is the cost of coating them etc, so they lost big time on mine as they only quoted $600 odd all my heat shields. So mine and 1 other set of the collector heat shields are the only ones they have made and they have decided not to do any more, so basically it's an economic decision as they just lose to much money making them ( not to mention that they were a pain in the arse to make). So they are only going to do the two for the pipes from now on.

I actually don't see the need for the heat shields but each to their own ive done a bit of riding with my new headers on and haven't found the heat to be that bad really . I think they look a lot better without them too but its always good for people to have the option

Yes and that's basically what Trevor said to me as well, but for me, I read about the couple of riders that found a bottom heat shield would have helped stop wet weather gear from melting on them don't forget I live in Tassie :D and it would also stop some heat when in traffic as well, so that's why I opted for that one and then the other ones were because I use highway pegs and you calf comes close to that second pipe so that's why I had them made to reduce the heat on my leg, I figure I may as well ride in as much comfort as possable:thumbsup:
