CAT BYPASS, anyone has this one?

Always ran with decat and stock pipes never had a problem never stalled no idle problems goes of the clock. But then again it is black

When I got the bike it had the decat + TORs - now I've kept the decat but floogged the TOR's & put the standard pipes back on.

Just have the standard tune that it came with, and I've not had any problems with idling, and I regularly have it off the clock.

Like Step, it's beautifully black.

I will be getting a set of pipes from travelguy soon with a Supertrapp silencer, so I suppose I will have to bite the bullet & go for a tuneboy then. Really not looking forward to that bit though. Like Scotty said - that seems like bloody hard work to me.

OWL

Do you know if the tune it came with was the TORS & De-Cat tune or the standard bike tune?
And does anyone know if the 12 min tune would adjust things to suit the change?

I asked at the dealers & they told me they hadn't re-tuned the bike at all.

I performed the 12 minute tune when I put the standard pipes back on, for no other reason than I thought I should. Haven't noticed any difference in the running at all, except that I've got rid of the horrendous popping on decel that was my only problem with the TOR's.

Cant understand why some folk get popping a lot worse than others, i can only assume some of it is down to air leaks.
I used sealant as well as gaskets and don't have much popping' though i still get a little bit.

I just assumed it was because the bike wasn't given anything other than the 12 minute tune when fitted with cat bypass & TOR's?

Didn't have any detectable air leaks, but the popping was horrible - like a bloody machine gun every time I slowed down.

Non existant as soon as I fitted the standard silencers.

No one seems to be able to get to the bottom of this popping carry on, I'm sure they will eventually. In the past from my experience it has been caused by air leaks, but people on this site assure me it isn't, but no one seems to be able to cure it.

Even if their is un-burned fuel getting into the exhaust it usually needs air to ignite it. But i am told their is no air in the system, so i am stumped. Their is some kit you can buy for the Bonneville so i am told, that stops this as it has the same problem????
