Idk WROTE The kit for the Bonneville won't help. The Bonneville has an air injection system to lower pollution emissions and the kit just allows you to remove it. The RIII doesnt have that system.
One possibility is that the TORs etc are louder so popping would be more noticeable, but I'm sure that that would be only a part of the problem.

I understand its different from the Bonneville, and i have been told that their is no forced air system before. But the thing that i find confusing is, any engine that i worked with in the past that has had any sort of popping on the overrun it has been due to air entering the exhaust system after combustion has taken place. And to my knowledge you need oxygen before you can ignite anything, and this is what i am struggling with.
This is my first fuel injected bike' i work on fuel injected cars on a daily basis and this is not something i have come across before and its starting to really niggle me.
I have in the past fitted a set of straight through pipes on a friends injected H D and no probs with anything there. Injection is far more efficient than a carb. so their is a lot less chance of unburnt fuel getting as far as the exhaust system,
It pops with Tune Boy and it pops with Power commander. One thing i do know is i have seen other bikes run with Power Commander and the dint have the problem and i am guessing but i think other bikes apart from the R3 that you can fit Tune Boy don't have the problem.
I know their are some of you out there far brighter than me, but i cant help but think the answer to this is staring us in the face and we just cant see it. I know i shouldn't tempt fate, but i almost want a problem with this thing just so i can rip it apart...." Oh my God, what did i just say "
