CAT BYPASS, anyone has this one?

Thanks for the welcome guys. I don't know exactly how an R3 would react to a long 3-3 exhaust. I would adventure a guess that it wouldn't stop the popping. IMHO, the ECU program would need to be changed to enrichen the decel circuit before a significant change in popping would happen.

Although it sounds terrible, or funny to some, it won't harm your bike. About the only sure way to eliminate it is to build backpressure during decel which would require something like Yamaha's exhaust pressure valve that would close when throttling back.

Welcome to the forum, Speedfreak. Some folks on this site, like Trumpet or Billy, only understand the words like, breast, naked, any posts by MiamiDave, etc. You'll see.

Looking forward to more about your bike and mods. 8) 8)

Scotty, I noticed that with my aftermarket CAT elimination kit, the metal/lead sleave doesn't truely seal. i have significant "puffing" at the first clamp (exhaust and CAT eliminator) when I put my hand under the bike. As a result, I have significant popping.

I have thought about applying a sealant ... what do you use/recommend?

cheers,

r.
