Hey Steel I have a question for you..... After they put in your stage 2 kit do they or you have to break it in with the new pistons and rings or since it already has miles on it that will suffice? Or did you have it put on the dyno later? I seem to recall in speaking with Carpenter a couple years ago that they didn't dyno the bikes right after the build which makes sense to me, I would want break In miles on mine. But.....the build says "tuned & dyno'ed"
With the hard nickel seal liners the rings seat fast.
Another thing to remember is when your installing this kit you do not even have to split the engine unless your having other work done. So you adding cams, slotted timing gears, shim buckets, and pistons with new rings and modified cam chain guide plus manual chain tensioner. On the Stage one kit. a few a few more goodies can be added like rods and larger valves also without splitting the engine. Even on a stock bike it is the same the only time you have to split the engine is for transmission work or crankshaft work. Everything else can be done with the engine in the bike. Stock or not.

Bob Carpenter told me that by the time it's done on the dyno it's ready to go. Just ride it like you normally would.

Ok well bring that bad boy to biketoberfest I need to try one out with that kit!

I'm with you on that, I'm a torque guy, horsepower is nice too though!

They are DYNOED after the build to break in the rings but will make even more power after 1000 miles or so .

For posterity. there is a difference between some 13s and all 14s and 15s to all prior years in the ECU.
The tunes are not compatible between the above and prior bikes, and Tuneboy isn't playing nice with the new ECUs....

I'll be in Maggie Valley October 15th -17th with the rest of the R3 riders. Come meet us there
Hi Steel. I may have missed it, certainly cant find it, do you know where a dyno chart for the 265 kit is posted?
Thanks Mate.

WHERE do you come up with this stuff ? they dyno the bikes right after the build they do let the bikes run a bit to seat in but they dont wait you get a DYNO sheet with the bike and they can give you 240 +HP with a 7 K redline on the new 14 and up Rockets and a 9 K redline on the 13 and down Rockets the bikes will make even more power as you get more miles on them weve seen as much 256 HP from a 240 + package and we can make even more than 265 HP with a few more little mods
