With the hard nickel seal liners the rings seat fast.Hey Steel I have a question for you..... After they put in your stage 2 kit do they or you have to break it in with the new pistons and rings or since it already has miles on it that will suffice? Or did you have it put on the dyno later? I seem to recall in speaking with Carpenter a couple years ago that they didn't dyno the bikes right after the build which makes sense to me, I would want break In miles on mine. But.....the build says "tuned & dyno'ed"
Another thing to remember is when your installing this kit you do not even have to split the engine unless your having other work done. So you adding cams, slotted timing gears, shim buckets, and pistons with new rings and modified cam chain guide plus manual chain tensioner. On the Stage one kit. a few a few more goodies can be added like rods and larger valves also without splitting the engine. Even on a stock bike it is the same the only time you have to split the engine is for transmission work or crankshaft work. Everything else can be done with the engine in the bike. Stock or not.
