Carpenter 240 Kit questions

I sure hope so. I’ve never had to break in an engine before so I have to ask Bob the best way to do that. I already got the oil ready for her when she gets here. Best believe I’ll be goosing the throttle. I’m sure I’ll be dying with laughter. It’s going to be great. Never owned anything like it in my life.
I definitely know what youre feeling, 10 year old boy at xmas expecting a red ryder! Close?

Spot on!!! More excited than before I got the bike itself! I can’t imagine that I’ll be disappointed. I’m really hoping I get the call tomorrow with the video and pictures of it plus Bob giving her a clean bill of health. That by itself will just exponentiate my excitement.

Howdy Kevin,
I opted for the 240 kit, Kn 4040 filters and carpenter street rod exhaust. It’s getting finishing up this week. I just finished scheduling it to get picked up by Haul Bikes to come back to Colorado. I wonder if it’ll be loud enough.
bring it to RAA west next month ,will be riding southern utah, moab, bryce, zions, grand canyon and points

Take care getting used to it. That much power gets you going fast in a hurry. The suspension and brakes will have all they can handle so use your brain a bit.
That’s another thing I was thinking about! I was considering new suspension when I get a new rear tire once she returns. No idea which shocks to get.

There are plenty of nice option for that and lots of help on here for getting it done. The bike is a big heavy machine that does not stop like a sport bike even though yours will accelerate faster than one.

The close calls I’ve had on my bike were trying to get it slowed down. You come up out of a corner in second and open the throttle and hold it there for one, two, three and four and your going way to fast for the next corner.

Race tech, buy once, be very happy (ofcourse there are other the ohlins) just make sure they dont over spring rate ya, let them know the bike is lighter than stock, give good info if they dont ask dont but that kind

Has anyone that bought the 240 kit got anywhere close to 240hp? Researching
I got the 210 kit and Carpenter dynoed it at 230 HP. It came back with the throttle bodies devoid of air filtration. They threw away the intake runner plumbing. I'm not complaining, just giving you a heads up. But the bear claw was still in place, so I'm running it around the desert sucking unfiltered air for a couple days before I realized whats up. I fitted it with K&N RU 1760's. They're a tad smaller than what some Carpenter Captains run, but they are more than adequate. They also have a built in angle so they lean forward allowing knee room. I also slipped some Outerwear water resistant prefilters over them. Another heads up, I got the Carpenter exhaust which is great, but it doesn't include a baffle. It hurt my ears. But they do sell a baffle which works fine. I attached it with some large pop rivets. Regarding the transmission, I would have Carpenter rework it at Robinson Industries for peace of mind. I didn't. But after I got it back from Carpenter, it started dropping out of 4th gear under load, so I had to send the engine back for upgrades, including the billet 4th gear. If you can disassemble the engine yourself and reassemble it, you could send the trans components directly to Robinson and save some $$$$.
