Gone and ordered one of the Go Cruise, in between sporadic internet access. Looking forward to some long rides now. Maybe even down to Southern Missouri.
I have noticed I have to be careful with the throttle rocker I have on the throttle too. It's usually at low speeds and tight maneuvering and whoops, you just hit the gas.....
I have had a chance to use the BreakAway for a few days now - and I did get a replacement nut for the front brake lever bumper. So now it all works as it should and I must say I am already happy it does. I was on the freeway with it locked at 70mph (ish) when the freeway turned to a parking lot. I instinctively grabbed a handful of front brake and rear. I never even had time to react to the throttle lock. But the system worked. It released the lock, the engine RPM dropped and I joined those in the parking lot without incident.
So I would say it has been a good investment and I am ready for our long summer rides. I am sending an email to the manufacturer to let them know of the problems I had with it, but overall a great product that already saved me skin rash!
I just want to follow up - I emailed BreakAway tech support and reported my problems and Bryan Fechner was very helpful and is even sending me out a new locknut to replace the one I fat fingered. Yet another reason I am glad I picked this product.
I put on a Go Cruise, which is good for the straight aways, but I am a little anxious about it being locked, so I bought a throttle rocker velcro hook up and I can't believe how well the rocker works. No locked throttle and I rest my palm at 50,60 70 mph no problem. Can't believe I rode without one for so long.
Nothing to do with grips as the unit fitted my grips perfectly .it was the mechanism that was to activate the on and off .it was completely different to the correct brake away unit.I ended up buying and fitting a kaoko cruise .its was working fine .I believe ruzzle also has a unit on his bike.
