BreakAway Cruise Control

Just went to the manufactures web site...I see, yes not the same model at all, very different in how the quick release sets up, thanks

yep that sums it up basically you have two choices for releasing the throttle lock , either release by pressing on the front upper dog handle and when resuming speed resetting the lock by pressing on the lower toggle button. or release by squeezing the brake lever either fully or just pulling it back a tad the brake leverback ward move will push down the black bumper therefore releasing the throttle lock . snazzy and well designed I just sell mine because I do not like to clutter the handlebars

G'day fellow Captains.

I'm looking to buy one of these BrakeAway thingamajigs, but upon looking at my throttle grip, and comparing it to the photos here, mine is different and the 7CP01 BreakAway wont fit.

My ride is a 2005. I'm hoping my photo will attach properly. In the photos on this thread, the brake fluid reservoir mount is separate to the switch block. Mine is an integrated unit.

I'm not the original owner, so I don't know if it's original equipment or aftermarket.

I'm also curious what that protuberance under the red kill switch is. (Above the start button)

Original owner is deceased, so I can't ask him.

Thanks guys

Your throttle body photo looks to me the same as my 2012 Roadster.

Hey 1olbull. I see you have one of those aluminium Go Cruise throttle locks. How's that working out for ya? Sounds like the plastic ones weren't worth a ****.

I guess the previous Captain of my bike musta swapped out the 2005 throttle assy with a 2011+ version. I wonder what else he did to this bike. Anyway. I'm LOVIN' it. Best bike I've ever owned/ridden. Looking forward to some riding weather up here in the frozen North, where it's snowing today....

that looks the same as my 04/05, my 06, my 08 that i had and now my 2014...

Rumboy
welcome aboard i see that your rocket has a palm throttle helper. mine worked real good untill i tried to turn around on a dirt road. just seamed like i touched the throttle and it jumped out from underneath me. also if you go over a bump your hand goes down (even without the palm thing) and the engine revs up.
i just installed the kaoko cruise and i like it very well. some don't like it because it doesn't have the brake release.

Rumboy,
Actually the plastic Go Cruise worked fine until it broke when I crashed last August.
Was looking to replace it when I came across the fancy aluminum one.
Thought it more cooler and just had to have it. The tension adjustment is a nice feature
allowing finer hold and release control for the throttle.

Gone and ordered one of the Go Cruise, in between sporadic internet access. Looking forward to some long rides now. Maybe even down to Southern Missouri.

I have noticed I have to be careful with the throttle rocker I have on the throttle too. It's usually at low speeds and tight maneuvering and whoops, you just hit the gas.....
