So how much did a 05 502 boss Hoss go for?
They just don't seem to appreciate like other bikes?
Like in 05 the guy that Owen my Rocket has all the papers with the up grades he put on and Special edition paint job he paid $33,000 for it and he gave me the papers to prove it, and in 07 I bought it for $14,000 thinking I got a great deal now if I decided to sell it I'll be lucky to get $9,000 and I put even more up grades.
The Boss Hoss is even harder to sell less people that want the Boss Hoss, I think when people stop paying the big buck thinking it's going to be a collectors bike, it should drop and depreciate just like all the other bikes.
I think then I'll grab on I would even like to get the fuel injection ones that replaced the 502 they are light and faster and more reliable.Heck even new cars depreciate faster.

To answer your question, the 502 base price was around 45000 but average was around 53000, could go to 80000 or even more depending on the dealer. Some paint jobs were 10000 dollars or more, different wheels could go as high as 3500 a wheel as they were custom made, custom seats could cost thousands. The dealers put the bikes together, one dealer put stretched tanks on the and custom fenders. There were some with dual shocks hidden lake a normal mono shock made by a dealer. Many guys who bought these new had more money than a bank and they thought if they spent the most they would have the best. In reality the bikes aren't to hard to sell if they are clean, most have low miles. There are more folks than you imagine that want the v8 bikes but the money stops most. Working guys look for used ones but they got to like the paint, many paint jobs are pretty gaudy or have some type of theme painted on them that the original owner had done. The bikes did not come painted from the factory to the dealer. Used bikes still are not cheap unless its 1999 or older, they were single speed bikes, two speed bikes started in 2000. There are two different models, the SPORT and the STANDARD one is an inch or two longer than the other but gas a trunk compartment under the seat. There are many things one should know before you buy one if you want to have a good experience. If you ever get serious give me a call and I would be glad to help you make a knowledgable decision. If you get the right one you probably will love it, if not you might hate it. I've had mine eight years and still really like it. I could not imagine not having it, I doubt I would ever sell it unless I couldn't ride any more. I love my Chopper, its my favorite bike but its more of a novelty, I love the Rocket but its just another NORMAL great bike. The Boss feels like it will never wear out mechanically, most parts can be got from a NAPA store and its so crude I can do anything that will ever need to be done on it. Its true it has many shortcomings because of its size but once you have one its real hard to go back to anything else unless you still have the BH in the garage. Keep in mind this is my own opinion and many other v8 bike owners opinion but there are some who disagree.

I would love to own a Boss Hoss V-8 M/C. The truth is I was never able to afford one. Just like all the other M/C in the world I would to have.

I saw one in Daytona that really stood out to me. What do you think this thing cost???

That's the viper made from Boss Hoss , I think they go for $168,000 starting if I remember corectly.
But I'm sure Las Vagas Dave would know for sure, now that would be insane too ride lol, but it sure is nice.
Wow the Boss Hoss really jumps in prices no wounder for the same years can be so much more.
the only way I could get one once they come down in price.
But most likely I'll just customize my Rocket even more.

There was a Ford Side valve V8 powered Harley WLA around here a few years ago it was the first V8 bike I ever saw, the same bloke had a VW powered BMW with a sidecar ,the side car had a dog clutch that he could engage to drive the sidecar wheel he used to take it on the beach to go fishing

That was a "ONE OFF" built by a dealer, not the factory. I don't have an idea what it would cost but it would be for a customer with deep pockets and a big ego.

Keep in mind that its possible to pick up a good used late model one for less than some new Harleys. A new owner has just bought the Boss Hoss company and says they will make bikes again, he isn't sure when yet. Right now they still make trikes which are what many guys ride these days. Here is a picture of my old trike. It was real fast, 400 HP and a turbo 700r4 trans. It was fun for awhile but I just don't like trikes as much as bikes, I sold it last year.

YOU would think the trike would be faster than the bike since it had the good trans and 4 speeds but It could be a dangerous beast as I dont like Trikes either

It could and did hook up decent and it was faster than my Boss Hoss bike. I don't care for trikes compared to bikes but if I couldn't ride a bike the trike would still be better than a car.
