Blown away by a sportbike in the twisties...

Wrong tool for the mission. An 800 lb cruiser is not going to handle like a squid bike. If you want to run with the squids, buy a squid bike. Save the Roc for other riding.

I for one do not have the skills nor the utter absence of self-preservation tendencies to ride like a squid anyway.

Not one "expert" suggesting a car tyre. Wonders never cease.

The "experts" are not suggesting a car tire for this mission because, as "experts", we know better and match the equipment to our mission.

I like the Rocket very much but by no means is it a sport bike. The Rocket is perfect for riding up and down the highway, stable and powerful. Grateful that it handles well in the turns but that is it just well not great. We bought the Rocket because I ride a lot of miles back and forth to work. Really needed a bike that could handle 114 miles a day plus weekend riding. The Rocket so far is meeting my needs and then some. Would I rather have a bike that can burn up the corners and run at 160 plus down the highway? Not really. Did we want a bike that is fun to ride has the ability to go a lot of miles with little maintenance? Yes.

Ya know when I think about it, a bought this bike partially to prevent myself from riding like a maniac in the canyons. I need to remember that and stick with my original plan- to have a super fun, fast as hell bike, and not get carried away in the twisties. Although, I'm still going to sign up for a track day class!

I agree with everyone else. To think you can even nearly keep up with a sport bike that weighs half of what the rocket weighs along with the fat tires.... this is not what the bike was meant to do. You need to have a second bike to do the type of riding you are talking about.

My second bike is an ST1300 and even though its not that much lighter then the rocket, just the geometry and tire sizes alone make cornering and turning absolutely embarrass the Rocket with how effortless it is.

The Rocket is a high performance cruiser, nothing more. No reason to be ashamed of that. It is what it is. I've stopped trying to chase bikes or any behaviour like that because its just stupid.

I love my Rocket for what it is! The baddest cruiser in the world.
