Backing down the driveway ?

I would think a motorcycle jack would work. I can lift my bike and move it with the jack. I'm sure turning it 180 wouldn't be much harder.

A Rocket isn't really much heavier than a big Harley bagger, in fact they're quite comparable. A Road King is about 820 lbs which is more than a Roadster (but less than a Touring). I think the worries about it being hard to ride up on a dolly are overstated.

Yeah but putting the bike on a hydraulic lift or some such ideally requires some sort of supports in the rear lifting holes in the frame, much more work than just riding on and off a dolly.

when backing out i leave kickstand down that cuts my odds in dropping her in half.
i have never got my left foot stuck under the stand but be careful.
as far as slick surface you could leave bike in gear and let out clutch to slow her down.
i remember at first it was a little scary because i had to back out of the carport fast enough over the two inch drop off to get up enough speed in the gravel so as to make the corner and drive off. if i didn't make it back far enough i would drive back in and try again. i now seem not to have a problem i think that once you have done it enough you get use to it.

I just use the lift, I've never pinned the holes. I have only moved it sideways about 2 feet, never tried to turn it around.

I have a half circle driveway, but a straight 50 or 60 foot leg off it to my garage. I'm lucky, it's very slightly down hill, but near flat, my poor old knees wish there was a bit more slope, it's a minor PITA duckwalking it 60 feet backwards, but I have to do it every time, such is life. It's newer blacktop, so it rolls pretty easy, dropping it really isn't an issue, but it takes some leg effort.
I have a whole car port for my bike that my Fiancees Chihuahua thinks is his own personal toilet , im constantly dodging barkers eggs and caught him once lining up to piss on the front wheel , little knt knows he's gonna get in trouble too.......

Ok, lets be honest Steel. You're so big either you pick the bike up and turn it around or you scare the darn thing into moving where you want it to go :D

Since my scrawny arse has tipped both my bikes over before, I like both the dolly and the turn table. Over kill on safety is not a bad thing!!!!

You can always use R3Tex's method to turn his bike in the toy hauler. Spray the floor with water, hold the front brake and spin the back tire while it works it's way around to where it needs to be.

Not a bad idea as it cleans the rear tire at the same time :D
