Ok Captains:

Tuesday talking to Triumph dealer to try and get support from Triumph.

Friday talking to tour operator to supply food at minimal cost

Had one failure tried to arrange a free camping spot and venue on a mates 20 acre property. Turns out the Neighbour across the road is a turd, locals have told us they will call the cops to a cat farting so this free spot is canned, but still working to find another spot.

As there is a lot to organise I am making a tentative decision to have the Aussie Rocket Ride arrival in Hervey Bay From Friday 26 October 2012.

Planning for arrivals Friday 26/10/2010 and Saturday 27/10/2012.

Friday afternoon, night, Saturday morning, afternoon Arrivals, Camp set up, & and the meet and greet time. This means don't be bloody shy and say g'day to Captains you haven't met.

Thinking from 10am Saturday until late afternoon we polish and shine our rockets and put them on display. Saturday Night BBQ, Drinks, and maybe local band for entertainment, when you've had enough go to bed.

Sunday 9am to 11am BBQ Breakfast, pack up and piss of at your leisure.

This gives plenty of time for every one from any where time to plan your trip. Please note consider this a family event as all captains, their partners, and their children will be welcome.

In the meantime I will could some of the local Captains if interested to provide input drop me an email so we can get together and organise a cracker of a weekend. I would like to be able to have all plans confirmed and set in stone no later than 3 months prior to the event. This way we can inform all captains of accommodation options and costs.

I have a fare bit on the rest of October on weekdays so my time will be limited. I would like to think November to January I will have a couple of helpers, and hopefully be able to post fortnightly progress updates to ensure the success of our Aussie Rocket Ride.

Finally for today please don't think I wish to be the supreme ruler of the event, I welcome any Captains, input, assistance, & support, if you have any ideas please don't be shy.

I will also be looking to gain local community support to ensure all captains are welcomed to Hervey Bay with open arms.

Future plans we commit to the last weekend in October annually. Every year a different state, territory, when we get back to your sate or territory a different location.

2012 Queensland
2013 New South Wales
2014 Victoria
2015 Tasmania
2016 South Australia
2017 Western Australia
2018 Northern Territory

I will do my best to ensure the success of the first ride to Hervey Bay after that the Aussie Rocket Ride will definitely some dedicated captains to ensure the success of all future events.

Please let em know what you all think Thanks Marty

Mate it's a few days ride (at most) and a weekend get-together ... honestly how much planning is really needed. Personally i prefer, just pick a place and a date and everyone that wants to go .. goes. October 2012 is a lifetime away. Just my two bobs worth ;)

I Like it and a fan of distance planning, great job already sounds like good weekend:cool:

Hervey Bay is about 1100 kms one way for me. Say 2 days or 3, taking it easy, then the same back.
Sounds nice.
I reckon I'd be in it,however as Tomcat observes, it is a long time away .

G'day Rocketeers

Good to get a couple of replies and input already.

Taking into account us Qld locals 500k Radius, I agree we can just pack and go a moments notice meet up and have a cracker of a weekend, piece of piss. And I'm up for it any time, what do ya reckon pick a date, spot & lets do it. What you think of Cooyar.

One pub lets you camp in big back yard, has all the facilities you need. Been there a few times great relaxing get away. So tell me when and I'm there lets the locals have a meet and greet, and I'm up for something like this any time.

Not wanting to sound a cock bastard every one that mentions seeing a few rockets on a ride how many is there, usually between 5 to 10 tops. (rarely over 5)

What I am trying to do is give plenty of advance notice for any rocket rider in Australia to get as many as we can in one place at one time. I have been to **** loads of bike rally and what do you see the most of?, Harleys, surely we can get just as many if not more Trumpys than the bloody Harleys.

As we all know the rocket is the biggest production bike around as those that have them love them, lets show our rockets off. I would like to see as many as possible 100's of them, and you can't organise that with a few days notice.

We use the R3owners to make a few mates, talk ****, and help each other out with our mods & cons. For those of us that live in a local area we can have a get together any time.

1000k's for me to go for a ride and meet up in a place is a days ride, but we have to respect the riders that travel at a far more relaxed pace, and need a bit of time to get things organised.

Local boys drop me a line pick the spot I tossed in Cooyar, if you got another one ok by me. Saturday fortnight where do you wanna ride to I'm easy.

Does that mean the already discussed Tamworth or Coffs ride/get-together on one of the long weekends early next year has been canned ?? I was looking forward to a couple of short rides (races) as a group around the countryside down that way. Just wondering what others thought ??
