So we are all pretty much in agreement that we are going to group up at Grafton on the Thursday and ride to HB the next day, yeah?

I've passed thru Grafton a few times over the years but never stayed there I don't think.
What's peoples thoughts for accommodation for the night.

Hanso's towing the camper so I'd imagine you'd be sleeping in it.
Tomcat. You thinking about rollin out the swag or would a room in a pub or cabin in a caravan park be better for a one nighter???
I'm not fussed but if it's lookin like rain I'd rather a cabin or room.
Mitch. You'd be wanting a room too???

Does anyone know the area well enough to make any suggestions?? Preferably at or near a pub so we can have a countermeal and a few drinks without taking the bikes out again.

depending on weather if it is crap I would just grab a motel or cabin if weather is dry set the camper in the blink of an eye

I usually overnite at Kempsy . Got mates at Grafton that would know where to pull up for the night. Can suss it out if you want. If you have put a big day in riding you may want a bed. I don't really care either way... swag it or motel.

1500k's for me to grafton so comfy bed would be good.

Yes I know thinking of Gosford where reallies live, I'll just put it down to old age

yeah been looking at that, melboune - bathurst is about 800k and having driven there towing its a decent drive so will be a bit too much for me considering i'll have anoth few days doing 1300k more.

i might do melb - yass day 1 (500k)
yass - raymond terrace day 2 (540k)
raymond terrace - grafton on day 3 (450)
grafton - hb day 4 (610)

Might want to double check that Big fella. I think you might of done a return trip as well.
Google maps shows it as being 604Ks and 7 hours travel.
I usually manage to include my breaks for food and fuel in the times they give so I'd expect to do it 7 hours or less start to stop.

the I-phone tells me similar 7hr 32 min 612 klm

612k's 7hr 24mins according to my system which confirms the other 2...I think if you were taking it easy and stopping every 100 k for a stretch and coffee at every fuel stop you could stretch it to 12 hours but.....
