If not in Marion, VA, then I vote to return to where RAA all started, Maggie Valley and the A Holiday Motel. Rob and Gabbie would go all out to host us again.

Slideshow from a trip to Snowshoe, WV back in 2008(?). The rally had organized a group outing on the Cass Scenic Railroad. Neat ride up to the top of the mountain for lunch. Also, some nearby State Parks with some interesting trails.

I agree that it is impractical to have a "rolling raa" we need a home base for the event.

BUT

We need to travel to the event...and those that like the idea of a "rolling raa" could take maybe 3days of twisties, on the way.

This would be pretty easy if the destination was WV...the pre-ride could start @ NC/TN
and go north.

If destination is Maggie Valley (for example) start the pre-ride in WV/OH.

3 days to home base, gives ample time to route via a lot of the most well known destination roads.

My plan two years ago was to have Warp ride here and after a few days of sighseeing we would meet up with Tripps and ride part way down via the Blueridge Parkway. We ended up on plan B unfortunately but that would work if we returned to Maggie Valley.
