Hey guys
My bike is showing all the usual signs of stuffed TPS
Took it to local dealer said that they recommend replacing both TPS + stepper motor @a price of over 1k but said they could try n reset etc
So got em to reset and was good for ride home but got on it 2 days later n same old problem
What I hopping you guys mite know is do I really need to replace all 3 things or just the primary TPS
I've been reading all the old posts and can't find anyone else doing all just the PTPS
Thanks

Can't say I recall hearing about anyone replacing the stepper motor, whereas many, if not most of us have had to replace the TPS.

Who's your dealership? It sounds like they were trying to pad the bill on you.

Hopefully, your fellow Aussies can chime in here with regard to the honesty, competence and overall reputation of the dealership that I believe was trying to scalp you.

more than likely just the TPS, does the stepper motor twitch and whir and click when you turn on ignition, if it does more than likely it is fine, also I know one of our Sydney based owners had his TPS replaced by a dealer and they did not do the ISCV adjustment, this syncs the TPS and Stepper Motor for it to all work in harmony with each other do you have TuneECU, if so you can do it your self, it does need to be spot on as I found wile experimenting with altering the sync settings of them

Also just remembered that two of your nearby neighbors @Scuba Craig and @cusso ken have both used a Dyno guy up your way that uses TuneECU and does a good job, might be worth starting a conversation with either of them to find out where in Newcastle this guy is

Yeah stepper makes those noises
Brisan Newcastle service department said if your doing 1 we r better off doing them all as in the past they have done 1 and than the other 2 have failed and was thinking bull****
I don't have tuneECU but have ordered cable than just have to chase a laptop as don't have 1
Was thinking of having a go at putting it in myself but cable will be a few weeks and I'm scared I will *** it
