Amazing how fast the last bit of tire leaves.

I try to run by the numbers from the triumph handbook. However, lve questioned the reliability of tire gauges. How can we know which tire gauge is accurate. I've used three different gauges and come up with different psi.

THE facts are when stopping a heavy motorcycle or any motorcycle all the weight transfers to the front tire and the rear tire can actually leave the surface so the rear brake and tire are not going to do much stop the bike so the front tire is whats stopping the bike

A number of years ago Bridgestone tried to develop an airless tire.
Airless Tires | Bridgestone Tires
It still hasn't hit the consumer because they can't control the lateral forces well enough.
A motor tire has WAY more lateral forces applied on it that a non-leaning car tire.
Add in tire compounds that provide the best friction and I believe this is why our tires have a shorter life.

They could make a tire that lasted 100,000 miles, but I don't think you'd like it. soft=sticky.

When i was young, my first street bike didn't have a front brake. I didn't know better at the time. Never had an accident with that bike. I knew its capabilities. I always stopped in time.
Another thought I had was how do run flat tires work. They must have very stiff side walls.
Heres a thought. What if we as a motorcycle touring community would come together and make some demands of the tire companys. We would all agree to buy and use only one brand until the other companies would build us a motorcycle touring tire that could get us through a season. 20-30 thousand miles. I am not talking about a sport tire here. A touring tire where you maybe carrying 400 pounds and maybe pulling a trailer.

WELL I dont see what all the fuss is about I get the same mileage out of the Rocket tires as I get out of any other big bike Ive had for the past 50 years I get 10,000 miles and thats fine I have to grease the drive shaft splines every 10,000 miles any way and and the MC tires arent that expensive so whats all the fuss about the rocket handles best with MC tires
