Very useful post. I'm just curious though, why did you need to use a jack to raise up the bike? Just to make it more convenient to work on?

I didn't use the jack for this because things are easy enough to get to sitting on a stool. Gimlet asked about my lift setup which is the only reason it was mentioned in this thread.
