Hey there all my Texican Amigos!
Is this rally in the three sisters area and is it any good?
Thinking of a possible route home from RAA X detour . . .

Hey 1olbull if you do the detour to The Three Sisters you'll enjoy the twisties and the scenery is a beautiful representation of the Texas Hill Country. Watch your speed if it says 15 mph keep it close to that. Also watch the pavement that is down when we rode RRA through there had a rider go down, due to the way the road was repaved and how loose the stones were when out of the major groves. The area is actually west of San Antonio with good state roads leading in and out. There has been a lot of riders who have lost their lives on the switch backs due to speed and other divers/riders not holding lanes just making sure all remain safe. Best to arrive late and alive than never arrive. Not judging or questioning rider skills on my behalf. Also very very limited cell phone reception for most companies.

Johnny is correct, unfamiliar road with lose big gravel is not a very good recepy, i saw the accident firt hand and it was not pretty but i highly recommend the sisters, i really enjoyed them:)

I don't think this rally is very big but the TX hill country is great.
The three sisters are fun, but like stated above; you need to keep an eye on the road conditions.
I enjoyed 39 headed west out of Kerrville more than the sisters but there's plenty of enjoyable rides out that way.

The only ride I saw on the schedule was from 9 - 2 and I doubt that would get you from the Fredricksburg area through the sisters and back unless you were riding pretty aggressive. We usually start day rides from Bandera or Leaky in order to allow for any unforeseen emergencies and still be back on the porch by dark. Beautiful area and Luckenbach is a great place to hang out and enjoy some good Texas music. Same cautions as above when riding...lots of blind curves and hills and the folks really love their road signs down there...enough to steal them on a regular basis so you may see a few unadvertised surprises. Last caution...LOTS of wildlife...the sisters are actually ranch roads not publicly maintained farm to market roads. On one particularly memorable section you cross a cattle guard and there are no fences on either side of the road. I have ridden right into the middle of a herd of cattle on several occasions and you will definitely see deer.

BTW...the sign pictured above hasn't been updated since 2006 as I personally know of more than 6 riders killed in the area

The pic was taken in Oct. of 2012 so it probably is out of date by now. But it does specify that it's the NEXT 10 MILES.
It was taken on 336 north of Leaky.

The 3 sisters are the more challenging than anything I have rode in N.C., Tenn area.
Not many bridges. The road follows the terrain.
If you hit one of the MANY dips too hard, you will bottom out.
