Bit of help from those who know would be great.

The Rocket 3 VSS. What rotating wheel/gear is it reading inside the engine? I can't recall from my adventure inside the cases.

Almost done, really I'll need to do some more reading to figure out the final base configuration, but I think it's to a point it will start and run with most of the new functionality available. The IMU seems to be something they're still developing controls for, it's currently relegated to a datalogging role in the VCU. Ideally, I'll be able to use yaw/roll values to create derivative values and then use those derivatives for throttle control to limit power based upon lean angle and wheelie height.

The vss (vehicle speed sensor) does not read anything inside the engine
the sensors read a rotor wheel on the rims.

One of the things I needed to do, for this project was be able to tow things around. I give to you my new tow vehicle.... Or newly tow capable at least, incredibly stealthy class 2 hitch installed.

Vehicle speed. It is read from the output shaft. Wheel speed is never read on the rocket except as ABS, most Triumphs do use the front wheel sensor for speed though.

I need to see how many teeth are on the gear it reads. That sensor allows me to use advanced torque management, which, when combined with the wheel speed sensors, allows the ECU to anticipate traction loss much more quickly than having to compare the two wheel speed sensors alone. Essentially a rate of gain on that sensor can be used to control slip amount before intervention, and it's a much faster response.

Similar to how Chevy does it on the new Corvette and Camaro.

You could save yourself a lot of trouble by just adapting a points style distributor and a Holley four barrel.

So, by my count the matching gear to that 46 tooth output gear is the damper shaft input gear, which as 48 teeth.

Ok so, the speedo is reading motion entirely ahead of the final drive ratio (which includes this 46/48 step down) of 2.846, but after the trans and primary ratios, simplifies things a bit.

So impulses per mile using a 79.95" circumference tire should be...
63360 inches per mile / 79.95 inches circumference = 792.4953095684803 revolutions of the tire per mile.
792.4953095684803 revolutions per mile * 2.846 = 2255.441651031895 revolutions for 1 mile for the 46 tooth output gear.
2255.441651031895 revs for output gear * 46 teeth = 103,750 trigger events on the VSS per mile.

That's the number I needed, pulses per mile
