5.75 Daymaker alternatives?

Hey Guys,
I am new to the forum but here is my 2 cents on a lamp I installed on my Vmax. Very similar to this one. It was far superior to the original lamp and has been on the bike about 7 months with no issues. I noticed tonight as I was riding after dark that my R3 headlights are very dim and thought I should consider upgrading. This is the first time I have ridden this bike after dark as I have only had it 2 days. Is there possibly an electrical issue that would make the stock headlights quite dim? They just don't seem adequate at all. Thanks for any advice!
Chris
Wonder if yours has the eastern beaver bypass on it.

I dunno since I don't have much history on this bike. Previous owner was good to do regular maintenance but no upgrades. He purchased it used from a dealer and only put about 5K on it. Bike has a total of 40K miles on it. I am looking forward to scoping out some details this weekend.

ED the mechanic at CARPENTERS said the cheapo LEDS are down to $32 a pair NOW thats cheap LOL

You should know that one usually gets what you pay for.
I sure have nothing disparaging to say about the China knock-offs - at least until I have an opportunity to test some.

You had an opportunity this past October at the Sisters... my bike has the chinamakers on it

And I must say, the 50 mile slab of near straight concrete I ride in the dark is lit up very well!

Well crap!
I didn't check with folks to see because I forgot to load my light meter.
Guess you'll have to put up here so we can test them.
I have spare bedroom . . .

The only TRUE TEST is with a NIST certified light meter in a no measurable ambient light environment on a huge flat grid.

FOR a savings of $800 I have to try the CHEAPO replacements and Ill give up some light to the DAYMAKERS

NIST test or not, my Chinese knockoffs are 3 times brighter, from my perspective on the bike at night. I don't have $700 spare to purchase real Daymakers so these eBay torches have been absolutely great for me
