My understanding is that is the header size. Seems anything smaller along the way would be an "obstruction" to a greater or lesser degree. I'm no expert, so here is the list of options I was given. I went with 2 1/4" with heat shields and their muffler......

Are you stating here that CES is now making a 2¼'' at the header and in stainless system?????
If true, I be stoked!

Any pictures of these headers and exhaust?
And they come three in to two exhaust as well.
Dow they sound as good or better then Jardines?

Once you and your motor are down and sliding on the pavement, how far above the pavement is your head?
Now figure how far above the pavement that cage bumper is?

Thanks mate, that is very interesting and will share with a few mates. Yes it was a coffin tank, the first release, light blue in colour. My very first road bike and my Mum copped a lot of **** from my Dad for buying that bike for me. Didn't kill myself though, just had a whole lot of fun. My mates had a Suzuki GS1000 and a Yamaha XS1100. Geez we had a good time riding those bikes

Amen! I've many great memories of many rides around the country I did through the 70s! So many, they kinda run together in my old head.

@1olbull They're 2 1/4" ceramic coated (silver or black). It's the heat shields and mufflers that are stainless.

@canecorso pix and video at this link below. From what I understand Jardines are much louder.

OK they are then still 1 & 3/4" at the head.
In the past I have tried to coax Trevor to make a 2" header without success. For a minute you had me excited he'd changed his mind.

Nope.
@albertaduke runs Jardine & we've ridden together many times.

I found that out on my Sprint, the human body doesn't slide very far, a motorcycle slides a looong way.
