Over here in NZ we cannot get enough stock...there are dealers ringing other dealers all over the country trying to get them for customers....i dont see them being discounted to sell over here...very popular...

Exactly the same situation here in the U.K., no dealer has them in stock and GT’s are on an approx 3-5 month lead time so order now and you might get one mid to late summer!!

I laughed at first when I read this, but then realized how true your statement is.

Not a death, but a youngster I know at the local bike assessor store bought a Thruxton in 2015 and totaled it the next day. He recovered, went back to work and told his story many times. Started riding again on a Suzuki GS500 in 2016, totaled it, both were single vehicle crashes and both were situations beyond the riders ability to operate the machines. He did ride the 500 for three weeks before almost killing himself.

After coming back to work with his arm in a sling, he asked me if an R3R would be a safer bike for him being that it is bigger; my first thought was NO bike will be safer for him.

He has not crashed a bike since that I am aware of, but he is buying a new Thruxton this coming week. I honestly think will be his demise.

So back to your statement, I think the new bike will accelerate the Reaper's arrival for many folks. It begs you to ride it hard and with the electronics and awesome brakes, it give you great confidence to flog it in the wild. I know I am prone to do things like that...

I don't think the lead time is as long on the 'R'. I ordered mine on Jan 27th and was told end of Feb for delivery. It actually arrived on Feb 18th.

That would seem to be the case, spoke with a dealer last week Ref lead times on the R and he said it would be in by end of March. That’s 6 weeks earlier then the unconfirmed date for my GT! However if I was to speck it with the GT parts your looking at close to another £1200!! Maybe an option though as I have feeling the GT dates are going to move again..... rumours of June keep popping up!

They are selling briskly in the Roseville Triumph location. I myself don't see any 'used' GT or R' going up for sale anytime soon unless the rider got in over his head. Why would someone pay that amount just to put it up for sale and lose thousands of dollars. Injury or money emergency possibly I guess.

I don't really have a local dealer since Triumph closed down so many the last few years, but dealers in my state and nearby states are showing R and GT available on the showroom floor. One even lists a TFC.
If you're interested in other models, there sure are a lot of 2019s left over.

IMO the real test will be how sales go when The New Kid on the Block Syndrome wears off. I've heard that one of the reasons Ducati keeps the Diavel in the lineup is sales, while not spectacular have remained consistent over the years.
