yes 6 gear would be nice.
But can't say a thing about the gearbox, people say it's the weak link, thank goodness I have not had any problems yet and hope I don't. Eventhough 2300 cc is plenty people still put Turbos or supper charger on. And even if Triumph did come out with a 6 cylinder 3000 cc there be still people that put a super charger or Tubo on lol.
It's time for spy photos....at least then we'd have some way at reasonable guesses. But I think Triumph plans a boffo reveal for this one is really being kept under their hats. The let loose some new America spy photos...which reveal the softtail rear end ala Bobber. I guarantee they allowed that shot to be taken. Manufacturers do their own "spy" shots to head off the paparazzi. But when they don't want a project to see daylight...it will not be seen where a paparazzo can shoot it.
2500 cc
170 hp out of the box
6 speed automatic transmission
ECU settings for performance, cruise, and rain. (Hanso would have a ball)
Roadster, Euro, and Touring versions (touring with fixed bat wing option)
Hydraulic adjustable shock system
Cruise
Seat similar to the one on the T-Bird LT
GPS system with a female British accent
And Dark Side out of the factory
I was reading another forum and there's speculation and rumor from "trusted sources" that the Gold Wing is getting a redesign which will include a 2300ish cc flat 6 with 150hp, cruise, 100lb diet, and an electronic suspension. (Yeah Yeah speculation)
Honda with Rocket stats and extra trim could be a nice ride. Would really like to see a Rocket update though. Lots of manufacturers sound like they're going after the Rocket displacement. Makes me a bit sad to think those numbers might become common.

Talk of a 6th gear is redundant...the R3 has a 1 tooth over drive 5th gear ratio (28:27 ... from memory so don't quote me).
Most larger torque bikes are 1 or 2 teeth over drive. The only real difference 6th would make would be to bring the first 5 ratios closer together and with the torque output there is no need for closer gears...I'd rather have a 4speed box - less shifting to do
Also, peak fuel efficiency is around 2750rpm and the bike is geared to run at a road speed near most national limits at those revs... ergo it is running at its most fuel efficient at about 110-120kph in 5th
