Making gaskets isn't really that hard. With proper gasket material and a very small ball peen hammer I've made a lot of gaskets before silicone was readily available. I once tapped out a gasket for the front cover on an 8V71 Detroit diesel underground in the shop. Wrong gasket came in and rather than wait for another (underground you can't simply push equipment outside the door) tap tap tap and voila... I bet you she taps it out in less than 15 minutes...

What's her hourly rate... lol

It is fixed, went for a ride and had no problems. Got home and had 1 drop of coolant on the garage floor but it was the water pump hose, tightened the clamp and that should be it. I pieced together the coolant hose I cut and next time I change the coolant I will put the new coolant tube and hose on. Who knows how long it will take to get here but it does not matter now. Thank you very much to everyone for their help and previous writeups on this. I have bought some new tools I needed and gained some experience. Most of all no bolts left over, that might be a first.

Order a set of samco hoses. Cheaper than factory and guaranteed for life! Make sure to get their hose clamps too, they are the best hose clamps I have ever seen!
