2013 popping out of gear

the spring is the detent spring
the spring that is not broken i think is the on the cross shaft(i forgot the terminolgy)
maybe some can tell if that nut is a left hand thread?
if there is enough thread left then you can figure it out.

I was also expecting a lot of oil when I took the front cover off of the bike but very little came out, I guess it is all in the bottom of the engine.

most oil is pumped into the oil tank.

That extra spring looks like the clutch lifter shaft return spring #26 below. The lifter shaft goes on the front cover you removed. Don't forget to look for the other piece to the detent spring. If it's in the sump, it's probably ok and is sitting on one of the pump intake screens. If you are paranoid about it, the sump can be removed also with the engine in place.

The clutch basket nut is righty tighty and lefty loosey , not reverse threaded. Bought an impact wrench and stuffed this hose in there so it just spun a little.

Good news is I was feeling around in the bottom of the crankcase with my finger and felt something so I got a magnet and attached it to a screwdrive and got the missing piece of spring out. Bad news is they lost my package with the gasket and spring in the mail. I put the front tire back on and the bike will have to set for a while until I can get time to get it together.

My gasket and spring came and got everything almost put back together. The shifter is working well now but the clutch cover is a pain to put back together. i got it on and had a leak. Took the cover off and I had torn the gasket in a spot. The silver coolant pipe really makes it a pain, is there a secret? Together again now with some gasket maker in the torn spot who knows if that will work.

I got the clutch cover on (pain in the a..) no leaks. Then found out my clutch was not working right so had to take it apart. The picture is the correct way to install the clutch rod or whatever it is called. Did a little modification to the coolant pipe it is now shorter and I ground the tab off. Now the clutch cover goes on easy without all the drama. Had to buy a new coolant hose 10 inch long. Bought some gasket material and this week my wife will cut it out for me, she is a scrapbooker so she will definitely do a better job than I would. 4 hour job turning into 30. I should not have a problem if the spring ever breaks again.
