2011 Rocket III Roadster sputtering/missing during a constant RPM on road

Being a2011 model should still be under warranty. I would take it to the shop after i put in the TOR tune. And hopefully whatever the problem is would be covered under warranty.

I talked to the shop and its 6 months out of warranty. =( I did check the tps sensor and its set at .65 and 100% is 3.58 to 3.8 which it does vary at full throttle and it does not reach a 100% only around 89 - 90. I think it needs to be set at .6 from what the service manual says so ill give that a shot tonight. I have an idea on calibrating the tps with the ecutune program but does anyone have specific instructions for the rocket III? Getting cold here in kansas so i gots plenty of troubleshooting time. =)

had that also and it was a loose connection on the coils, sometimes it ran fine and sometimes stuttering and driving like ****. those cheap ass connectors on the coils tend to get loose every 2-3000km in my case. so every month i take em off (the connectors) pinch em together with pliers, and all is well now.

Glenn that was exactly the issue. I got off work and jiggled the two coils connectors one at a time and it changed the idle drastically. I re-seated the two coils that i could get to and the bike ran great all the way home until i hit a good bump and it went to crap. Well i pinched every L shovel connector tightly together to have no play on the coils and the bike ran great. The connectors are junk and in winter time i will convert them to better fitting shovels. This saturday i got froggy since the bike was running good and took of to Tulsa OK from Wichita thing ran great for 50 miles then my rear went flat in the middle of no where. =) i have some awesome luck .

well at least a flat tire is easy to diagnose, and now you know of the stupid coil connection thing you are almost set on going on a problem free bike trip.

glad i could help.
