2007 Classic Carpenter Dreaded Click

I have read everything I could read about this issue but still can't figure it out. I get 1 click when I push the start button. I seem to be able to start the bike in 2 ways.
1. Wait for the weather to warm up and it seems to start more often, but I still experience the click.
2. Put it in gear roll it around, and it seems to start

Here is what I have done so far to try to fix it.
1. Installed a new high CCA Lithium Battery along with a secondary battery.
2. Pulled of clutch switch and cleaned. Left it out of the bike so it stayed, no help.
3. Replaced Starter relay/along with pulling out all the wires and tightening the connectors
4. Replaced starter with an upgraded 17610 starter
5. I tried to pull and clean the crank sensor, but it seems stuck in there. Any tips on pulling it? Yes I took out the screw LOL
There seems to be a lot of different things that can cause the dreaded click 🤷‍♂️
Just recently I've had that on 2 of my Rockets & tried & cleaned absolutely everything. Would do the rock in gear even & it would eventually start!
What it turned out to be was the starter relay wire (black) to starter solenoid plug that sits behind the engine that you can't get at & they get dirty & corrode 🤷‍♂️... so that wire from relay goes into the harness & comes out back of motor to the plug then down to starter solenoid plug ( it's a single wire & I know cause I cut an old loom to check).
So I just ran a new wire from starter to the relay & waaala...no problems since. 🚀🚀🚀✌️😎

It was without a doubt the ignition. I have now installed an RF Relay and it starts perfect. So now I have a new starter, new battery, clean crankshaft sensor, ignition bypass (to fix the click) then ISCV set, new primary TPS sensor, clean throttle body springs, new vacuum caps and new vacuum lines on the way (for hanging idle issue). I've even bypassed the stepper motor and still hangs when I blip the throttle.

Ok Ya'll I have a 2007 Classic w/ far to few miles simply because I have this dreaded "click" problem. I am ready to divorce the British B!/@h as I can't bear to sell my beauty queen in this kind of shape. Also am 69yrs & want to go on the trip of my life w/ her. She will start in any kind of weather temp doesn't effect when she clicks I put her in gear rock the snot out of her and she starts. Sometimes it takes more than one "rocking" to get her to start, sounds just like a f#@/$. Am ready to do the starter upgrade but have purchased the .2 kw starter and am taking it back to purchase the .4 kw online (not sure what difference .2 kw will) do. Had a mechanic friend install a second relay, not sure he did it the way suggested, I'm not highly mechanical. Another friend (lifelong) is willing to help me rebuild old starter w/ .4kw parts to increase power but I've always been skeptical of the whole starter issue. I took starter to local rebuild shop they told me she was good to go, no rebuild nec. They did replace the contacts as they were "dirty" but not really "bad". The one thing that has always worked is rocking it could be hot or cold no diff, sometimes she hits sometimes she won't. Help an old vet out. I love my b!/@h but hate her indecisiveness.

So bad boy are you saying one wire from relay to starter "could" solve my issue?

Should I disconnect black wire from relay & run another wire direct to starter?

I have helped a guy with this problem
what we found (after doing everything) was the voltage was to low coming into the starter relay.
fixed by furnishing a good 12volt ignition wire to the starter relay.
could it be the black wire to the starter solenoid possible but more likely the wire feeding the starter relay is low on voltage.
i am thinking that the purpose of the two relays is to furnish a good 12volt ignition wire
i think that @Rocket Scientist might give us a hand and tell me if i am wrong or give us more advice.

Ok, I have purchased a New 17774n starter that is rated @ 1.4kw going to rebuild starter, should I also do something w/ wire that feeds starter relay or wire to solenoid, and what Guage do you believe would be best?

i like 14 gauge
a little starter info
the 1.4 starter probably won't help and with the 1.4 may make the problem worse because it will draw more current in your system that has a problem already.
when building a starter the brushes has a certain way to fit on the armature also make sure that the total surface area stays on the armature when you tighten the brushes.
the 1.2 and the 1.4 are completely different parts are not interchangeable.
the key to fixing your bike is to wire the two starter relays correct. i may be able to help.
going to need several pic's of relays.

Okay, I haven't molested the new starter yet. So I am hearing you correct, I need a new wire going from where to where? And your needing pics of exactly what?
