So here is a silly question: Would the intellectual work to produce parts for a sixth gear, be available to those of us who would like six gears without changing anything else in the engine ? And I presume this could be done with the engine in situ ?

I want it because (a) i want to cruise at 80mph at much lower rpm
(b) nobody else in the world will have it... at least right away... plus bragging rights of having an extra gear and ridiculous "theoretical" top speed
(c) it's an engineering challenge which i enjoy
(d) there's a market there for the kit
better gas mileage isn't a priority for me - if it was, i would have stopped after the Carpenter kit and left the supercharger (aka gas guzzler) off!
