What the "heck" is up with tires and this bike? First, it was Avons (never liked 'em anyway) and now that the Metzler Cruistecs are the new official tire you can't find the rear in retailers anywhere. I just called Metzler to find out when/where and they are supposed to call me back- I'd be really surprised if they do- modern customer service, as it currently exists today.

I really, really, liked the Metzlers, but now after wearing down the first set I can't seem to be able to replace them. If anyone here knows where to get them (the rear is back ordered everywhere), please share here with the rest of us. If this $hite keeps up I'll just go back to the Exedra Max. The easy fender adaptation on my bike is still in place and those shoes are still available and less expensive.

Yeah, some guy from Pirelli did just actually call me back, but a totally useless waste of his and my time....

When will they be available I ask?
"They're on back order."
I realize they're on back order that's why I called- to see when you plan to make more, or ship them out if you have made some, since nobody currently has them.
"Sir, I don't have that information."
Could you tell me who does?
"No, your dealer will let you know when they come in..." (I'm just a robot and have no thoughts of my own, or anything to contribute. I just read this script)

So, next I called the dealer (Speed Addicts), very nice, who actually does know more than the Metzler/Pirelli company headquarters (hand slapping forehead). He said they are expecting them September 20th.

In two months I'll be riding on cords. So, looks like old reliable (and less expensive) Exedra Max, once again, to the rescue....

$241.13 be here in two days- Done!

I have been looking for the Metzlers as well and they have disappeared. I don't need tires yet, but may have to order a set as soon as they become available. They were available on Ebay for a while and then zilch.

This is all post pandemic bull$hite. No one wants to work and companies could give a d**n about customers.

I told the "customer service" guy at Metzler that I just needed to know WHEN so I could decide if I would have to buy another brand and he says, "that's your decision if you want to go with another brand..." OF COURSE it''s my f*****g decision! I don't need someone telling me that, as if they are giving me permission.

It's not just the unavailability, but the attitude that really ticks me off.

FYI - IF you can afford to wait until Metzler decides to make some tires, the best price I found (of course they will surely go up when available) were Speed Addicts for the rear ($253.11) and Tucker Speed for the front ($242.43). If someone else sees something better, for the States, let us know...

This is a repeat of a post I just added to another thread I started on the Cruisetc tires, but thought that I'd update you all here too in case you're interested in alternatives...

....I just mounted old faithful Exedra Max on the rear, which is also cheaper. On the front I mounted the G701F Exedra 150/80HR-17, which I have not previously tried. Just ran some of the slick off them, but too early to try pushing them. I know I like the Max on the rear. I'll post later how the one on the front is performing.

Btw, the Cruistec on the front started cupping.
