This is good news I wonder how much American Bike will charge for the service I plan to head down there tomorrow to check them out

I was going over this weekend and check them out also. I really like Jeff, but hour and a half vice 3 hours is a big difference. They are going to have to be really good to keep me from Ridge.

for me its an hour either way I bought the bike from jeff but if they can do what I need better I will go there I doubt I will leave from ridge but its worth a look none the less its worth a look

I just paid the dealer 822.00 for the 10k service including the oil change. I suppose I could have done the oil change myself, but for convenience I let them do it.

About 250.00 in parts, a bit over 500 in labor, plus tax. **** that's a lot of money I could have spent on pipes or something nice.

The other two dealers in the area were in the same range cost wise.

Well I went down there and got them to quote me the service cost starting at 600 labor down there is 85 an hour. They did have some different parts but other than that I am sticking with ridge

I am probably going to start running over there for a lot of stuff. It was 170 miles round trip and it is about 140 one way to Batesburg. I have two Triumphs so I have enough business to go around. Probably go over to American Biker for a lot of things just because they are open on Sunday and Monday. When I get ready for a new one I will check with them both. Jeff has always treated me well and that I appriciate, but I have done pretty good by him also. It is going to boil down to the amount of time. All day to go to Batesburg with nothing else to be done there but come home (almost 7 hours of driving) or go to Charleston in an hour and a half, hit the bike shop, Cycle Gear, Harbour Freight, the mall, Costco, then come home and be here in time to have a couple of beers before dinner. Makes a difference. Of course once I deal with the new guys we will really see what we are going to do. I still prefer to deal with someone that treats me well, even if I have to do the ride.

I hear Ya I say for me its an hour either way but the cost is what has me now there is no need for me to spend 30$ more an hour for service but for accessories and BS stuff I go with whats easier

Maintenance costs

I am getting ready to take in my R3T for the 10k service.... any ideas on what it is going to cost me?

Learn to shift without using the clutch and don't use the rear brakes ... then you can safely give them your left arm and right leg

As best I remember on my R3 standard 10K was about $300 and 20K was about $400.

My dealer offered a pre-paid maintenance on the 2009 I just bought ... ~ $1100 for 4 years or 60K miles.
It includes all the labor, all "predictable" consumables (i.e. oil, coolant, oil & air filters, lubes, plugs, etc). Unfortunately not tires, brakes, clutch, etc. but brake pads are relatively cheap and I doubt I'll need a clutch in 60K - well no more than one anyway.
I already saved $200 for 500 mi and expect to use all the 10K services up to 60K.
