My dealer quoted me 800 something for the 10K service. Why the big difference in prices for the same service? Might be time to find another dealer.

My first 10k service was completed yesterday for $809. It seems they needed to do a valve adjustment that jacked the price up. I gave them plenty of time, having left the bike Tuesday morning. I certainly don't like rushing these things. The mechanic took the R3T out for a 20 mile test ride after the service and complemented me for a good job of breaking in the bike properly. This is my 7th new bike in 30 years so I do have some experience in that arena. I'm going to try & pick the bike up today since I didn't have a ride back home yesterday. The shop owners do paperwork on Sunday & asked me to bang on the door so they could give me the bike. They're obviously not open on Sunday.

I love this dealership because of the mom/pop/family atmosphere. They genuinely care about their customers. When I dropped by to pay the bill the entire staff was in Halloween costume and the dealership decorated. Free goodies were neatly arranged all over the place. I used to pay $800 for major BMW services that came every 12,000 miles with a $400 smaller service every 6,000 miles. Sure, $809 is a lot of money but now I'm good until the middle to end of next year.

Pgratton- I think the cost is relative to where you live, I am in Florida this week and every thing is extremly expensive compared to where I live. The northeast is famous for extreme pricing as well as California.

Mine is over 13K, has anyone in the Atlanta, Ga. area hear anything good or bad about FREEWHEELIN' HONDA & TRIUMPH in DOUGLASVILLE, GA. I am thinking of getting a service done there.

I did the 10K maintenance this past June and it ran me $535 whch also included an oil change. They needed to adjust seven valves according to the dealership.

I will say it ran better and was also quieter after the valve adjustment.

so what are the specs for the valves and in witch order do thay want you to do them in ?? i plan on doing my own service because the dealer that is a couple miles from my house has a bad service shop and it is 2 hours to the dealer where i got it from ..

My stealer quoted me 820.00 for the full 10k service (including oil change). The other dealers are about the same. WTF ?

I'm getting the Metzelers installed as well (no cost).

CrazyMan,

Where did you end up getting the 10k service done? I called EuroCyles in the Tampa area, as I'll be there in June.

Estimate: 6.5 hours of labor and $220 in parts (9 screws are $7 each?). Anyhow, the total will be $800.

And I'm thinking about dropping 2 tires on, as well.

Suggestions?

I did get the service done at EuroCycles. That's the same price they quoted me.
I did the same again for the 20k. And a new set of tires. $ 1480.00 for the 20k service, tires, and some warranty work (no charge). How nice........

10,000 mi seriously?

I get my bike this week, and it's been sitting for I think a year and a half... I'm thinking first thing oil and filter change, which was last done at 500 miles. Not a bad idea, but does this synthetic oil seriously last 10,000 miles between changes?
Thanks!
