2025 Storm ECU questions...

Hello everyone, I am working with BT Moto for a tune and need some information if possible...do the 2025 R3 Storms have a different ECU than last year's rockets?

Does anyone know the diag tool software number and boot loader the dealer uses for the storm? Thank you.

I would guess the ECU’s are the same as Triumph update the software only. That said I’ve not seen the storm maps and doubt there are any significant changes that can be made to improve power, maybe throttle map and ignition advancement. More power would require hardware changes…

Do you have the BT hand held tool?

Yes. It won't connect to the storm though...BT is thinking this ECU is a slightly diff't than the other rockets...he made me try other triumph models as well to see if it would connect...

These are similar questions we all were debating when the new gen Rockets were released..
I would like to see what would come up if one was to connect the dongle to a new Storms diagnostic plug and 'connect' to ECU......it should tell you which tune is in there..it will be one we havnt seen yet for sure....maybe our friend Ulf Penner is tempted.?

Ulf Penner replied in other thread the other day that his son is working on it,

AFAIK, storm ECU 2025 are locked, apparently there is one guy who can unlock it but he asking for too much money, I think he is czech or spain, and you have to ship your ECU to him, ( i have his business info contact somewhere in my FB )
he unlocked 2024 Triumph Street Triple for my friend last year.

It takes one of these IT guys and I am just a tuner.
But I know enough about this stuff to tell that it is extremely difficult to get inside the new ECUs and rewrite via diagnostic port.
Back in the days when the dealer had a tool that had all the information and different maps in its memory it was a relativly simple job.
Now it is via a Triumph server and heavily encrypted.
I have heard that Alain is actually working on it but chances are small.

The Storm models have maximum throttle openings like the older TFC model. That is about 75%.
So still some good gains possible with 100%.
