Help stuck on tuine ecu remap file

☝️ No storm maps available yet and likely never will. Triumph is clamping down on ECU access. New module and port coming, no more ODB…
Another reason I'm happy with my '23R, never liked that blacked out look anyhow. Sucks that the Triumph Nazis have taken hold they must have been former Apple employees 🙄
Though still under warranty I'm most likely going to flash the Penner tune this weekend. I'm doing it mainly for the throttle restrictions but all the other stuff is nice too. 😁

Really stupid thoughts...be careful because Penner is German, in case he has incorporated a map "Arbeit Macht Frei" you risk having a sore ass...

Triumph might want to look at what's happening to John Deere, after they started making their tractors harder, or impossible for the owner to repiar or modify.

No, you can't save your original map, however the TuneECU site does have most of the stock maps available. Second, to work out which map you need, go into the TuneECU app as if you are going to flash your bike (ignition on, LX plugged in), then ECU->Connect, then after it connects, ECU->Informations and it will pop up a dialog that will list the map name you currently have. Mine was 31018 so I could search for that in the TuneECU custom maps page (at Custom Tunes) and see that my map version was in the "All Markets Rocket R No Restrictions 31018Map.hex" which aligned with my VIN (VIN # 971477 to and including VIN # AV5456) and region (Australia, so All Markets).

Also, I am assuming you have already paired the OBDLink LX, used the OBDLink app to update the firmware on the LX and connected to it in TuneECU to make sure it all works ok?

Hope this helps.
Hey @gadget_ho ,
My rocket 3r should require the same map as yours, 31018Map.hex. My VIN# is over 971477 and I'm in Australia.
But when I check via the tuneecu app it shows map 31023 (which is Argentiana, Indonesia & South Africa markets).
I assume someone has installed map 31023 before I owned the vehicle.
Going forward I should be able to install the 31018map (region Australia, so All Markets) without any dramas.
What's your thoughts on this?

31023 is still an R map, but for another market. No idea why someone would load what I am assuming is a stock map from another region here, but so be it. Yes, Penner's 31018 map will load on yours and you're good to go.

Thanks. I was thinking it would be fine, but just wanted to make sure there wasn't a common reason for a different regions make to be installed.

Australia is in the Argentina/Indonesia/S Africa market so 31023 is the correct base map. If you want to get a Penner unrestricted tune, you should get the latest Penner tune for the R from the Tuneecu.net site and copy the tables from it into your 31023 map. Actually you don’t have to do it. I copied Penner’s latest US R map into 31023. Send me your email and I’ll email you the tune.

If Australia is in the Argentina/Indonesia/S Africa, then wouldn't your US map not be suitable for me?
Also in the picture i attached do you think there is a typo (in red) in the 31018 map warning. It sounds like it shouldn't be used in any region. Or are there more regions?
