I have a chance to buy a 2005 Rocket 3 with 22,000 miles for $6500. It has Triumph bags, windshield, backrest and luggage rack. Seems to be in good condition. I have been reading about the problems with the early rockets and wondered what the consensus of the group would be?
Thanks Frank
Well I bought one new.Back in 2005.No regrets. It had to be pulled apart around the same amount of klm as the one you speak of to fix some unknown noise.Triumph covered that 2 months out of warranty too! :Tip-Hat: Be prepared to have to instll the upgrade kit in the future maybe .Mine is 93000 klm mostly trouble free, but the cheap arse bearing in the Torsional Damper Shaft let go,so I have mine apart with hlp from a mate who knows machining. Just go for it, I say!

that's a good price, but offer him 5800 cash.......or 6.....and roll it down the road......if nothing has broke in 22,000, I say take a chance with it..
I would prefer to get 2007 or newer. The whole issue with the output shaft bearing, I just wouldnt chance it. Yes its a good price, but only if you have no problems. I would spend a little more money and go for newer. It is probably worth it in the long run. Keep searching, take your time. The right bike will come along if this is not the one for you.
